- What is "CPS"?
Our service is accessed by carrier pre-selection (CPS). CPS is the easiest option for using an alternative supplier, as it requires absolutely no effort! After your switch over date, BT will automatically send all your calls to Tele2
- Would my Internet Service be affected?
You are free to use the internet anyway you choose. Your billing relationship with your internet provider will not change.
- Do I need to have a BT phone line to use Tele2 CPS?
Yes, the offer is not yet available to cable customers.
- How many phone numbers can I register with Tele2?
You can register up to 4 phone numbers with Tele2.
- How long will it take to register with the service?
All applications should be processed within a two week period.
- Is there a minimum monthly call spend?
No, you can spend as little or as much as you like.
- When a customer dials 1471 and then presses 3 to call the dialled party back or to hide their home phone number / "Caller Line Identity" ("CLI") , does that call go through CPS or BT?
The call is routed via the CPS options chosen and will work the same.
- How do reverse charge calls work on CPS?
The operator does not know whether the called customer has CPS or not. The reverse charge will be billed by BT and appear on the BT bill.
- If a customer calls the operator and they forward the call on, how does the billing work?
Calls via the BT operator (100 or 155) are exempt from CPS since BT sets up the call and the charge will be on the BT bill. Calls via Tele2's operator (see contact page for details) will appear on the Tele2 bill.
- If a customer uses BT's Choose to Refuse service, can CPS be applied to that line?
Yes, this is an incoming service and is unaffected by CPS.
- If a customer has BT's Anonymous Call Rejection service, can CPS be applied to that line?
Yes, this is an incoming service and is unaffected by CPS.
- If a customer has BT Answer 1571 or BT Call Minder can CPS be applied to that line?
Yes, the access code 1571 used in both BT Answer 1571 are not affected by CPS.
- What about my line rental?
Your Tele2 bill covers the cost of calls and services with Tele2. You will also be sent a separate bill from your line provider, e.g. BT, for your line rental. However, you may be able to reduce your line rental by ensuring that you are being charged at their standard rental rate. Check with your line provider to see if you are paying for any packages or services you no longer require.
- Can I override my Tele2 service once my telephone has been diverted to Tele2?
Yes you can use your BT line at any time by dialling 1280. BT will charge you for these calls.
- Can I call emergency services?
Yes, BT will continue to provide this service for you.
- Can Tele2 help counter Fraud?
At Tele2 we look after our customers to prevent them from becoming victims of internet scams and fraud. The most flexible solution to combat these scams is to implement call barring to premium rate services for all of our customers.
